In May 2018 the Human Trafficking Program completed a County-side assessment on the scope and prevalence of trafficking within San Mateo County, along with documenting the agencies and organizations involved in the response to trafficking. While considered a best practice in the response to human trafficking, few cities or counties invest in the assessment process. Supporting the Assessment process illustrates San Mateo County’s commitment to identifying incidents and victims of trafficking, and supporting an effective multi-sector response. The Assessment also laid the foundation for the future work of the Human Trafficking Program. The full Assessment can be viewed here.
